Today we welcome Jerri Duddleston Moore as our BethieLife Woman Crush. Jerri is a filmmaker/designer who served as one of the executive producers of the movie Ass Backwards, which premiered at Sundance last year. This very busy lady also has several other projects in the works. Welcome, Jerri!

Care to share? You’re:

I’m 55 and still alive!!! Ha ha! Seriously…I love being this age.

Where did you grow up?

I’m a third-generation Houstonian.

If you were stranded on a desert island, what three beauty products would you like to have with you?

La Mer face cream, Dry Shampoo and (does toilet paper count as a beauty product?), Carmex for my lips.

Who or what has been the biggest influence on your personal style?

My Mom, who was just like Grace Kelly and had fabulous ahead of her time sense of style, and my Dad who loved fine fabrics and Italian suits – impeccable style!

What is your favorite indulgence?

Candy would rank number one probably…the dentist LOVES me!

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

Two things: “lf you’re not early…you’re late” and “It’s never too late to follow your dreams.”

What’s on your plate? (Future projects, travel plans, etc.)

Well, I have just finished producing three films the past two years. The first – Ass Backwards – premiered at Sundance last year and was released in theaters this past November. My second feature, titled An Unkindness of Ravens just finished its last edit and is being submitted to Tribeca and other major film festivals. My third and latest feature, Land of Leopold,  is a screenplay written by my son –  actor/writer Chris Pinkalla. We filmed it in Austin in late September. We’re currently working on the last edit and score and have submitted it to Tribeca, SXSW and other festivals. As far as designing, I took a step back this year to work on these films and I am currently  working on a small (5 piece) capsule collection for Spring.

How do you spend your down time?

Going to the movies!! I do it up- I go alone a lot during the week. I get popcorn and M&M’s and a Diet Coke. It’s how I relax.

Tell us one Houston Hidden Gem (places that aren’t necessarily well-known) that you recommend.

I LOVE à bientôt! They have the best costume jewelry and handbags and gifts.

Tell us three of your favorite shopping/beauty/lifestyle websites.

One Kings Lane, J. Crew, Who What Wear and also…l’m a Pinterest addict.

Tell us three of your health/beauty tips.

I never wash my face in the morning- my skin is too dry. I wet a towel with warm water and put over my face and wipe off. I use La Mer, Skin Medica, and Yon Ka products. I drink green juice with mangosteen in it. I just keep it simple.

What are three things you can’t live without? (Besides God, family, and friends.)

Face cream, my dogs and Diet coke.

Do you have any irrational fears?

Not really. I’m pretty  fearless…unless you put me in a room with rattlesnakes!

What is your favorite vacation spot?

Rancho Santa Fe, California

Tell us something humorous about yourself.

Well, it has to do with toilet paper hanging off the back of my dress at a cocktail party. I must have walked around for an hour like that until I noticed…and no one told me!!! Haaaa!!!

If you weren’t in your present occupation, what would you dream of doing?

I’d be a detective.

What books or movies have you loved recently?

Too many movies to count! Right now I’m in love with Land of Leopold.
