I recently had the pleasure of meeting student designer Alan Gonzalez at the Passion for Fashion luncheon. Alan attended HSPVA and recently graduated from the Fashion Program at HCC. He is already being recognized in the Houston fashion community as a promising upcoming designer. He recently won first place at the MFAH Fashion Fusion with a stunning long multi-layered white dress. That dress was on exhibit at the MFAH until recently and will be presented at his upcoming fashion shows. I recently wore one of his black paint spatter dresses to a party and in this shoot am wearing his adorable white painted dress.
Alan plans to present his new Fall/Winter collection in a 2 night event to be held June 25 and 26 at the Museum of Natural Science. It’s a show with over 30 models, actors from UofH, hip hop dancers, and dancers from the Houston Ballet. There’s no way people can miss this fashion show at the Museum of Natural Science! And the best part? All proceeds go to local charity Neighborhood Centers! Doors open at 7:30 both nights.
One collection to be presented is painted while the models walk the runway, another includes hats made of chicken wire, and the last is airy with a dress that smokes as she walks down the runway. I can’t wait to see this show!!
All proceeds go to a charitable cause: Neighborhood Centers Inc. A Houston-based charity that focuses on strengthening community engagement, improving financial well-being and increasing educational attainment.
