Location: Saks Fifth Avenue Houston Galleria

Take off your hard hats everyone, the new Saks is finally here! I had the opportunity to attend the press brunch and tour of the new Saks and 5115 restaurant along with several other excited fashionistas. This new store is 200,000 square feet of sheer heaven. In fact, right in the middle of this 2-story store is a beautiful spiral stairway, which I have nicknamed the “Stairway to Heaven”. I could ramble on for days about how spectacular and amazing this new Saks is, but you just need to go see it for yourself. Spend the entire day there. Stroll through the first floor for cosmetics, handbags, accessories, shooooozzz and menswear. When you want to take a rest, kick back and have a beverage and light bite at the full service bar on the first floor. Once you have rejuvenated, walk the staircase, or take the escalator up to the second floor for a world of women’s fashion. Every designer imaginable is there, carefully organized in individual vignettes. The ready-to-wear is amazing and contemporary. After you’ve shopped like crazy on the second floor, stop in to the inviting 5115 Restaurant for lunch or dinner. They have a full dining section, full bar and a cozy lounging area. Their new chef is creative and likes to make everything from scratch, including the butter!

Kudos to Saks Fifth Avenue, Bobby Dees, Sylvia Forsythe and everyone else involved for creating a landmark for Houston. Bravo!!!
