The 2016 Passion For Fashion luncheon, chaired by Jeff Shell, Vivian Wise and Ally Shell, was recently held at River Oaks Country Club. Merele Yarborough was honored as this year’s Design Society Fashion Icon. This event benefits Houston Community College’s Fashion and Design Department. Esteemed American designer, Christian Siriano, provided a stunning Spring fashion show partnered with Elizabeth Anthony. After the amazing show, Clifford Pugh, with Culturemap, interviewed Christian, which pleased the crowd with a little humor and insight. The day before, Christian wowed the students at HCC with a personal visit and Q&A session. So generous of him! (I will be doing a separate post on the fashions of Christian Siriano).

Ladies and gents showed up fashion savvy to benefit HCC.

Houston students wishing to pursue careers in fashion and interior design have access to a world-class education right here at home. For more than 30 years, the programs at HCC have provided Houstonians hands-on, affordable instruction in fashion design. Students study under accomplished expersts in their fields and go on to achieve career success both locally and internationally, excelling in competitions with students from renowned fashion programs.
