Keep reading to learn more about Becky, and watch the video for a peek into her past and for more insight into how she developed her personal style.

Care to share? You're over:

I turned 55 on February 16th

Where did you grow up?

Tennessee

If not in Houston, what brought you here?

Family and a fantastical flim-flam fella!

If you were stranded on a desert island, what three beauty products would you like to have with you?

Chapstick, Ti-Silc SPF 60, and a man who will still tell me I am beautiful!

Who or what has been the biggest influence on your personal style?

Every fashion magazine I could buy, borrow or steal for the past 40 years!

What is your favorite indulgence?

Clive Christian No. 1. I received my first bottle  from a friend for my 50th birthday and it lasted a year. After that I had to find room in my budget! But $800/356days = $2 a day. Kind of a bargain! 🙂

What is the best piece of advice you've ever been given?

I actually have two pieces: 1. Love yourself, and 2. If you say it, it will happen. Be careful what you say!

What's on your plate? (Future projects, travel plans, etc.)

I’m currently finishing an interior design project at Canyon Lake and beginning a new one in Virginia. I’m also looking forward to my cousin’s wedding in Brussels, Belgium in April.

How do you spend your down time?

Reading and rereading interior design and fashion magazines in bed and wishing I had a pint of Chubby Hubby in freezer. Often I do!

Tell us one Houston Hidden Gem (places that aren't necessarily well-known) that you recommend.

La Guadalupana Bakery & Restaurant on Dunlavy.

Tell us three of your favorite shopping/beauty/lifestyle websites.

1stdibs, Segreto and still, Pinterest.

Tell us three of your health/beauty tips.

For skin care, I highly recommend Cetaphil Facial Cleanser and Complex 15 Moisturizer. Both are hypoallergenic, non comedogenic and fragrance -free. Buy them in bulk from Drugstore.com.  Another favorite is the Amazing Bliss Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Eye Mask. I always keep one in my fridge.

What are a few of your favorite local Houston stores/restaurants?

Tootsies, Kuhl-Linscomb, The Pass & Provisions Restaurant

What are three things you can't live without? (Besides God, family, and friends.)

Antique books, nature and humor.

Do you have any irrational fears?

Yes, but I’m afraid to say what they are!

What is your favorite vacation spot?

For a planned vacation, Le Méridien Bora Bora. I love to visit Seaside, Florida on last-minute getaways, especially during the off-season.

Tell us something humorous about yourself.

I adore Dolly Parton! In the part of Tennessee where she grew up, her fashion icons were the ladies working the streets and I can identify. She is talented, smart, fearless and fun and she knows how to laugh at herself!!

If you weren't in your present occupation, what would you dream of doing?

Running an exclusive resort with a very generous budget. It would be so cool to incorporate a time for various non-profit organizations to nominate a very deserving person or family to attend and make their week absolutely indulgent.

What books or movies have you loved recently?

The brilliant actors in Lone Survivor and Gimme Shelter provide what I consider “necessary reality” in order to evaluate and balance our own lives. In regard to our “Fashion/Beauty” themed Bethie Life blog, gorgeous Vanessa Hudgens and Rosario Dawson are outstanding examples of what makeup can do for us! A book I love is the Bible. It provides for intelligent conversations regarding the subject.
