Houston, let me introduce you to our rising star Madeline McDonald! I had the pleasure of joining Madeline at her recording studio here in Houston, Lucky Run Studio, to get a behind the scenes look, a little interview, and I also got to rock out on the drums with her for a bit 🙂
Madeline was born and raised here in Houston. She has always had a passion for music, the melodies and the lyrics, and when she got her first guitar at 14 she taught her self to play , and ever since then she hasn’t stopped. She writes songs, sings, plays the guitar, and enjoys the art of co-writing as well. These talents are what got her discovered by Seymour Stein, who also discovered Madonna! She is currently also signed with Page Parkes Agency.
Madeline invited us to Lucky Run Studio, where Michael Mikulka, the producer there, was very welcoming and gave us a tour. They showed us where the magic happens, and shared some interesting facts like how some of the walls are made of foam to absorb the beats, and the rest are made of plastic for the sounds to bounce off of. Michael then told us how the two of them got together – his studio is the only one in Texas where an artist can send in a recording of themselves and he will create the background music to it. That is what Madeline did, and they are finishing up the final details now! * You can check out the recording of just Madeline and then the almost finished product below. *
We also got to have sneak peak at an artist and her producer working in an adjoining room. Ashley Marsè is developing an EP with the help of Eddie Ferguson, who is more commonly known as E Ferg.
Lucky Run Studio has a lot to offer Madeline, and any other artists! They also put on an “In House Studio Concert” where a band will come in to the studio and perform, while an audience can be there too, to enjoy the music in a room designed to make it sound close to perfect. How cool!
