Location: Julia Ideson building/Houston Library

Mystery+Fashion+Models+Murder+Champagne+Cake = a party like no other! It wasn’t the butler in the pantry who did it, it was Vivian in the library with a candlestick. Heart of Fashion founder, Vivian Wise, hosted the most deliciously clever party in the recently renovated Julia Ideson building at the Houston Library. What a perfect setting for this “Clue” inspired event. From the minute guests walked through the Heart of Fashion arch they felt like they were in a setting of an old time mystery movie. Lending to the feel of this genre was  the rich antique decor and high vaulted ceiling in the lobby room and the expansive tables in the main room donned with candleabras. The evening began with champagne, dessert and lots of mingling. Then guests were seated in the main room and treated to an exquisite fashion show of Carolina Herrera designs from Tootsies and jewels from deBoulle. After the show, guests thought, wow that was great, not knowing that the lights were about to go out. A minute later when the room was re-illuminated, there was a “murdered model” and an entire collection of suspects and detectives (from Catastrophic Theater) eager to solve this crime. Well, it turns out the model was only hurt and when she awoke, her million dollar necklace was missing. So, who was the thief????? Vivian Wise of course!!! The entire show had guests completely entranced and laughing up a storm. Check out the video below.

Vivian, and her sister Mary Elizabeth Sand, gave moving speeches to the crowd about the difficulty of Lupus. All proceeds from the evening went to the Lupus Foundation. Bravo.

Heart of Fashion merges fashion and philanthropy by showcasing the art of great design while raising money for charity.
