Is it time for Mardis Gras yet? 💖🪅🌊🎆🎉 I love spending the day on Galveston’s historic Strand.
In 1986 several decorative arches were built in Galveston for the Mardis Gras celebrations. The Powell arch at 24th and Mechanic is a breezy, colorful structure of mast, rigging and pennants, suggestive of the sailing ships that called on Galveston during its glory days as a major seaport. It lights up super beautiful at night.
