My first night at Fashion X Austin (it opened Thursday night) was Friday night, and the shows were amazing. Matt Swinney, founder of Fashion X, has created a fantastic formula for showcasing emerging Texas designers and Project Runway winners. He also features  local Style Setters.

The designers featured Friday night included: Project Runway stars Daniel Esquivel and Gunnar Deatherage as well as runway collections by Boudoir Queen, Brittany Nicole, Hopeless + Cause Atelier and  Miles David. Capsule collections were presented by Day Avery, Mari Ascoli, My Boyfriend’s Briefs.

Style Setters honored were Cassie Lamere and A.J. Bingham, two generous and supremely stylish Austinites! A portion of the evening’s proceeds went to benefit the Center for Child Protection and Austin Sunshine Camps.

Premier sewing machine company Bernina served as a major underwriter for the evening and it’s participating designers.
