Location: Heights Boulevard

Located on Heights Boulevard’s broad median running from 4th street to 20th street are several pieces of outdoor art.  This sculpture is “Wildlife Sanctuary” by Dan Havel. It looks like a sunken church and makes the viewer ponder the many ways that church could have ended up like that. Was it a flood, tornado, the passage of time or the alteration of civilization? It makes one pause and think. There are several slotted openings containing birdseed, so maybe it’s just  the most interesting bird feeder in Houston!
