Location: The Webster

Young designer and Houston native, Amir Taghi, was recently in town to showcase his S/S 2019 collection. Hosts Lindley Arnoldy, Duyen Huynh, Sima Ladjevardian and Monsour Taghdisi welcomed guests to preview Amir’s latest and greatest! His collection, which had a modern nautical flair, was greeted with rave reviews.

This collection was a look back at where Amir is from (Houston), where his parents are from (Iran), and blending the two cultures. Taking traditional Persian uniforms/ royal medals/ and jewelry collection and mixing with the easiness of American clothing and ideals.

What’s new: since his last collection presented in Houston, he has worked for Monse and Adam Lippes, and currently attend Parsons. Amir  relaunched ready to wear this last NYFW and currently is exclusive to the Webster and his own online shop. He also offers Made to Measure where they bring you into their New York studio and create you a piece. It gives the client the opportunity to take part in the design process. One of Taghi’s made to measure pieces was just named one of the most beautiful wedding dresses of 2018 by brides magazine and Yahoo alongside Meghan Markles Stella McCartney gown. Love it!
